T-shirts worn at the march
Many Disabled In Action members helped organize the march, while the New York chapter of ADAPT was just getting started. Quadriplegic cartoonist John Callahan designed the official march t-shirt. His drawing features disabled people, including an amputee in a wheelchair and someone walking with crutches, holding signs. One sign read, “Proud to be blind, Deaf, disabled, cognitively challenged, epileptic…” and another read, “Vengan Todos” (Spanish for “Come All”).
